HOW TO APPEAR AS A DELEGATE BEFORE COUNCIL
A delegation is an individual or group who wishes to address Council or Committees of Council.
The City of Iqaluit may hear up to three delegates per Council meeting. Council meetings begin at 6:00pm and are held in the Council Chambers located in City Hall, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
In order to appear as a delegation, you must be on the council agenda. A written request is required two weeks in advance of the meeting addressed to the Mayor and Council via the City Clerk’s Office. Please send your request via email to AdminDL@city.iqaluit.nu.ca
Delegations are accepted on a first come first serve basis and have 10 minutes to make their presentation to council. Council may ask questions related to the presentation.
Your written request to appear as a delegate must include the subject you wish to present as well as the name and contact information of the presenter.
Please note, any written material must be provided in both English and Inuktut.
If you wish to appear as a delegate before a committee of council, the same process is followed; please contact the City Clerk’s Office for dates.
