NOVEMBER 22, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – The City of Iqaluit is looking for volunteer firefighters to join the Iqaluit Fire Department.
Benefits include continuous training, recognition and awards program, social events as well as worker’s compensation coverage and insurance coverage. Volunteers also receive uniforms and personal protective equipment.
If interested, applicants must:
Be nineteen years of age or older;
Have a minimum education of grade 10 or equivalent;
Be a legal resident of Canada;
Be physically fit to perform the duties of a firefighter;
Be a City of Iqaluit resident;
Be willing to have a background check;
Have a valid driver’s license;
Attend 150 hours of training, annually;
Uphold the good image of the Iqaluit Fire Department; and
Follow all operating guidelines, rules and policies.
