Public Consulation August 9 6-8 P.M. - New Proposed Water and Sewer Bylaw 200

August 06, 2018

Water and Sewer Bylaw 200 Consultation

August 9 6:00-8:00P.M.

August 5, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) Recently, changes the City of Iqaluit Water and Sewer Bylaw 200 have been proposed.  The proposed changes include provisions that would allow the City to enter into agreements with private companies to provide limited and highly regulated water and sewer hauling services to commercial and/or industrial clients.  This is due, in part, to a small number of commercial or industrial developments that require more water or sewer services than the city can provide under its current bylaws, equipment and personnel.

The City wishes to facilitate an open discussion with its residents and businesses on the proposed changes.  A public meeting will be held on Thursday, August 9 in the City Hall Council Chambers. A copy of the New Proposed Bylaw 200 is posted on the City of Iqaluit Website (below)

Translation will be available.

In addition to the public meeting, the business community and developers are invited to share their views on the proposed new bylaw by completing a questionnaire.  The questionnaire is available on the City of Iqaluit Website below or at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/iqaluitwaterbylaw.
