Please be advised of an immediate emergency water shut down on Tuesday, August 9 2022 from approximately 10:00 AM.

Location of water interruption: 580, 578, 576, 574, 572, 570 568, 569, 562,581, 579, 577, 575, 573, 571, 565,563,561, 559, 552, 555,550,552, 554,556, 558, 560, 562, 564, 582, 584, 586.

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for all residents, at the aforementioned locations, with the exception to those who are on trucked water services.

During a precautionary boil water advisory, the City recommends that all water for consumption is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute.

It is recommended that all water be boiled for the following uses:

• drinking;
• preparing infant formulas;
• preparing juices and ice cubes;
• washing fruits and vegetables;
• cooking; or
• brushing of teeth.

Water can be boiled either in a pot or kettle on a stove or an electric kettle without an automatic shut-off. It is notThe City of Iqaluit will release a Public Service Announcement when the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted.
