Vaccine Mandate- City Facilities

The City of Iqaluit seeks to provide safe, and healthy spaces for residents and visitors to our community. As part of this commitment, the City has developed a COVID-19 Vaccination policy for all individuals who wish to attend a City facility, including City Recreation facilities.

Effective February 7th, 2022, all Individuals ages 12 and older wishing to enter a City facility for any reason must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The City follows Health Canada’s guidelines and considers an individual to be fully vaccinated if they have received all recommended doses of an approved Health Canada vaccine.

Effective March 31st, 2022, all individuals ages 5 to 12 wishing to enter a City facility for any reason must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

At this time, there is no requirement for individuals to have received their vaccine Booster, however as the Booster appears to be assisting in limiting both the impacts and the transmission of COVID-19, the City strongly recommends that community members get their Boosters as they are eligible to.

All visitors will be required to provide proof of their vaccine status each time they attend a City facility. The City will not keep anyone’s vaccine card or QR code on file.
